Like Mother Like Daughter

I know I do it, “Oh my goodness, I sound just like my mother.”  We don’t look alike but our personalities are one in the same.

Good thing my mother is the most awesome individual I will ever know and love on this planet.  I think I love the fact that I will always be her daughter, no love like my momma’s!

So much love.

Thankful for my mom’s visit.

Sweaty Girl

Update:  I dragged my butt to that yoga class I’ve been wanting myself to take.

First thought of my class: HOT!  No escaping now.

Thought entering child’s pose: OW.  Can I really be that out of shape?

Nearly the last thought of my class: Going to enjoy my nice col…..HOT water.  Note to self: bring extra water to leave in the car.

Tonight was my second class and I was literally dying as well as looking forward to it all day.  Returning to that hot torture chamber – uh, hot room, was blissful for my sore body.  The heat graciously accepted me and I was thankful.

And yes, I am one of those obnoxious LOUD breathers in the room.  This girl has asthma and history of dehydration, dizziness in hot, sweaty situations (we’re still talking yoga, here, okay?) so I find it best for my discipline, practice, body, rhythm to participate in the breathing.  I love it when I’m sore the next day from breathing.

I love hot yoga, but I won’t even pretend I’m a hardcore yogi.  My dance background has provided me with the discipline and flexibility to hold poses.  I appreciate the time it gives me to focus on me.  All of my thoughts focus to my breath and my body.  Therapy and self care at its finest.  And its healthy!  As long as I shower immediately upon returning home.

Namaste.

What’s your Signature?

A few nights ago I decided I needed a hobby.  No, not the yoga class I’ve been wanting to drag my butt to, but a hobby that I can have fun with.  Something I can do on my nights off if I stay on a night schedule and also something that can be purely me.  Pink and perfect.

Oops.

Let’s back up.  I will be the first person to admit I am far from perfect, but I do love pink.  No, I never outgrew the pink phase.  Yes, pink is sort of my signature.  I don’t notice how pink I am unless someone points it out.  If you’re new in my life, be forewarned.  Pink, pink, pink ahead.

And I also love cupcakes.  I love eating cupcakes.  I love baking cupcakes.  I love decorating cupcakes.  I love looking at cupcakes.

Pink and cupcakes.  Cupcakes and pink.  Welcome to my first blog post, a blog that highlights my pink love and obsession for cupcakes.  And maybe other sweets, too.

Now time to research for my next blog post 🙂
